Welcome to LifeLink Safety Services
Learning CPR and First Aid is important and should be as easy and fun as possible. LifeLink offers interesting, efficient and professional full certification and recertification courses all over Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Most of our scheduled courses are held either in East Vancouver at the Croatian Cultural Centre or in Burnaby near BCIT at the Greentree Village Community Centre. Courses are also sometimes held in downtown Vancouver or at other rented or borrowed space across the Lower Mainland.
Every year, thousands of Canadians die because they do not receive medical treatment fast enough. Resuscitation rates could be up to 4 times higher if early CPR and defibrillation were available (New England Journal of Medicine). Basic CPR and First Aid training will give you the skills and confidence to act quickly and save a life in the event of an emergency. Classes will teach you important skills such as use of the AED, what do do if someone is not breathing and how to treat for shock. Early access to lifesaving first aid and CPR will drastically improve chances of survival.
CPR and First Aid classes should not be stressful – our goal is to help you to learn and feel comfortable with First Aid and CPR. All recent changes in the CPR standards have focused on improving but also simplifying the standards. Keeping the standards simple and easy to remember is important so that it is more likely that rescuers will act without hesitation in an emergency. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the most common reasons that CPR is delayed include fear of making mistakes, worry about causing injury and unwillingness to give rescue breaths. Our certification and recertification classes will give you the skills to overcome these concerns!
LifeLink certification classes are taught throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland by experienced and certified Lifesaving Society or Red Cross instructors. The certification standards that we currently teach are compliant with the 2010 Basic Life Support Guidelines. The Lifesaving Society is a national, non-profit, voluntary organization that has been training lifeguards and lifesavers since 1908. The certifications earned from LifeLink courses are compliant with the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), the Heart and Stroke Foundation regulations and are Health Canada approved. Certifications awarded are equivalent to those earned from other top providers, including St. Johns Ambulance.
