Mask Fit Testing

Link2Life now offers Qualitative Mask Fit Testing! This easy, short, fifteen minute procedure can help protect you from respiratory infections, whether you need protection in the workplace or elsewhere. Getting properly fitted is essential for the safety of people working in an area where possible contamination is possible – labs, isolation rooms, et cetera. Respiratory fit testing is also mandatory for entrance to many Health Science and Nursing programs in the lower mainland and even some staff need to be fit tested at some locations – including BCIT, Douglas College, Kwantlen, Langara, SFU, UBC and VCC.

Our respiratory fit testing includes:

  • Respirator selection;
  • Respirator limitations;
  • Storage and maintenance instruction;
  • Cartridge dating, change frequency, and limitations; and
  • Where to get replacement parts.

Upon successful completion of a fit test, participants receive a certificate of completion which is valid for one year. Annual retesting is mandatory for most organizations and required by the WCB as to ensure the face seal remains effective.

We are certified to complete mask fit testing for half to full respiratory protection masks or for simple N95 surgical masks. We can provide you with a 3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870/9210 for your mask fit or you can bring in the mask that you need to be tested on.

While fit testing is by appointment only, we are extremely flexible! Put in a request to be fit tested here. Have a group to be fit tested? We can come to you! We can also help add on fit testing to your First Aid or CPR class!
