Description
The Emergency First Aid Childcare course is focused on first aid required for child patients and covers all the Emergency First Aid topics and more. A Lifesaving Society or Red Cross certificate is provided upon successful completion.
Who should take this Emergency First Aid Childcare class?
Summer camp counsellors, day camp leaders, daycare staff, teachers, parents, and anyone who works with or lives with children should take this certification class.
What will I learn?
Participants will learn and practice skills such as how to deal with:
-Patient assessment
-Heart Attack and Angina
-Stroke and TIA
-Major Bleeding
-Shock
-Respiratory Emergencies: asthma, aspiration, hyperventilation and anaphylaxis, including practice with the Epipen
-Minor Tissue Injuries and Burns
-Bone and Joint Injuries
-Diabetic Emergencies and Seizures
-Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke
-Hypothermia and Frostbite
-Includes CPR and AED training
