Those with little or no background in first aid will learn the basics of first aid in this certification course. A Lifesaving Society or Red Cross certificate is provided upon successful completion.
Who should take this class?
An Emergency First Aid certification may be required by those who are in fitness, health care, and childcare line of work, including dental assistants, pharmacists, personal trainers, group fitness instructors, camp leaders and teachers.
What will I learn?
-Heart Attack and Angina
-Stroke and TIA
-Minor Tissue Injuries and Burns
-Respiratory emergencies: asthma, aspiration, hyperventilation and anaphylaxis, including practice with the Twinject and Epipen
-Includes CPR-C certification and AED training
- Is the same as Fitness First Aid and is accepted by the BCRPA and other fitness and personal training organizations.
- Meets the qualification requirements for medication management (injections) for the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Is acceptable for most camp leaders and for most Child Development educational programs with upgraded CPR-child patient
