1. Registration & Payment
- Confirmation. Your seat is held only once full payment is received. Unpaid registrations may be released to other students.
- Accuracy of information. Please provide your full legal name exactly as it should appear on your certification card, along with a valid email address. We can’t be responsible for delays caused by incorrect information at checkout.
- Pricing. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise noted. The price you see at the time of registration is the price that applies to your booking.
2. Cancellations, Transfers & Refunds
We hold limited seats and prepare instructor time, materials, and equipment in advance. All registrations are final and we don’t issue refunds for cancellations, missed classes, or no-shows – we offer flexible transfer options instead.
Self-serve transfer (24+ hours before your course).
- Transfer free of charge to a future date through your student portal. The feature locks 24 hours before your course.
- Transfers depend on availability; any price difference will be invoiced or credited.
Late requests and no-shows.
- Within 24 hours of your course, or after a no-show, a new registration at the current price is required to attend a future date.
- Substitution. If you can’t attend, you can give your seat to another participant at no charge, just email us at least 24 hours before the course. The substitute must meet any prerequisites.
If we have to cancel a course.
- If we cancel (severe weather, instructor illness, facility closure, low enrolment), you’ll be offered a priority transfer to the next available session at no charge, or a full refund if no suitable session is available within 60 days. We’re not responsible for travel, accommodation, or lost wages associated with a cancelled or rescheduled course.
3. Attendance, Punctuality & Participation
- Full attendance required. Our certifying partners (including the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Canadian Red Cross) require 100% attendance for certification. You must be present for the full duration of the course to be eligible for your certification card.
- Punctuality. Courses begin promptly at the scheduled start time. In accordance with the standards of our certifying agencies, once a class has begun and instructional content has been delivered, latecomers cannot be admitted. Late arrivals will be treated as a no-show under Section 2 and a new registration at the current price will be required to attend a future date.
- Code of conduct. We expect all participants to engage respectfully with instructors and fellow students. We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or harassing, without refund.
4. Health, Safety & Accommodations
- Physical activity. Many of our courses (CPR, BLS, first aid, MAFA) involve physical activity, including kneeling on the floor, performing chest compressions, lifting, and moving on and off the ground. By registering, you confirm you are able to safely participate or have arranged appropriate accommodations.
- Accommodations. If you need physical, learning, or language accommodations, get in touch at least 5 business days before your course so we can support you while staying within certifying-body requirements.
5. Certification Issuance
- Successful completion. Certification is issued only when you successfully demonstrate the required skills and pass any written or practical evaluations. Attendance alone does not guarantee certification.
- Re-evaluations. If you do not meet the standard on a first attempt, your instructor may, at their discretion, offer a same-day re-evaluation. If a separate re-evaluation session is required, additional fees may apply.
- Temporary certification. For first aid and CPR certification courses, a temporary certification will be issued to you immediately upon successful completion of the program.
- Permanent certification. Permanent certifications are normally processed within 2 weeks of each class and uploaded to the certifying agency’s portal, where you can access and download your official card.
- Lost cards. Replacement of lost cards may be subject to an administrative fee.
6. HSF Blended Learning Programs
Heart & Stroke Foundation (HSF) Blended Learning programs combine an online learning module with an in-person skills session. The following rules apply to HSF Blended Learning courses only, in addition to Section 2:
- Course start. Once you access the online learning module, your course is considered to have started. The standard 24-hour self-transfer window in Section 2 no longer applies.
- Rescheduling window. After accessing the online module, rescheduling of the in-person skills session is only permitted within the validity period of the online Certificate of Training (typically 6 weeks from the date of access, as set by the Heart & Stroke Foundation).
- Expired online certificate. If your online Certificate of Training expires before you complete the in-person skills session, you’ll need to re-register and re-purchase the online module at the current price. This requirement is set by the certifying body and is outside our control.
- Recommendation. Please do not access the online module until you are confident you can attend the scheduled in-person session within the 6-week window.
7. Mask Fit Testing
- Fit test results are valid only for the specific make, model, and size of respirator tested, and are subject to the conditions set out in CSA Z94.4.
- You must be clean-shaven in the area where the respirator seals to the face. If you arrive unable to be tested for this reason, the appointment is forfeit and no refund will be issued.
8. Assumption of Risk & Liability
Emergency training involves physical activity and the use of training equipment (manikins, AED trainers, respirators, etc.). By participating, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Link2Life, its instructors, contractors, and partners are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from your participation in a course, except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
- You are responsible for maintaining your own health, accident, and (where applicable) extended medical insurance.
